Hello,

Some keyboards are PS/2 and some keyboard are USB ?!

Is there a difference ?

I am mainly concerned about how many keys can be pressed at the same
time.

This is important for shooters. Where a player might want to hold down
multiple keys at the same time.

For example:

"A" for strafe left
"W" for forward

I just tested it with my own keyboard which has served me very well
over the
years and my keyboard can only handle 2 keys at the same time.

If I press down 3 keys it will start to beep, beep, beep.

I have played many shooters very well and never really had any problems
what
so ever.

However who knows with future shooters I might went to hold down a
third key
for whatever reason.

Does USB offer any adventages over PS/2 ?

Does USB allow more characters per second to be typed for faster typing
speed ?

Does USB allow more keys to be pressed at the same time ?

Are there any adventages what so ever ?

I know PS/2 has the adventage that it will even work in dos or with a
bios
without any drivers.

I am not so sure if a USB keyboard works inside the BIOS ???

Bye,
Skybuck.

Bye,

Your keyboard has 2-key rollover, You want to look for a keyboard with true
N-Key rollover, the port type is not the problem.

To add to the above I use a ZBoard gaming keyboard ( which I love ) which
has 7-N rollover which is more than ample.

Good question.

I just tested it again and this time I could press 3 keys at the same time.
Only the last key will be printed though ;)

With 4 keys it starts beeping.

This is while in outlook express though.. maybe it's application dependant
or maybe I just tested it wrong the first time... not sure byee..
