Apparently there is an issue with computer input devices, like the mouse and
keyboards, causing wrist, hand and other injuries. It seems that there are
numerous medical studies that point to prolonged use of devices like this
being a determining factor. If you go to
https://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/case/computer_mouse_hand_or_wrist_injury
there is some more information on the types of problems. There is also a
free case evaluation provided for those who may have been affected by such
problems. I hope that this might be of some help.

We've all heard about the keyboard injuries, but it's no wonder the mouse
and others would, especially handhelds IMO.
Unfortunately, manufacturers could care less.
In fact, they've been getting WORSE.
Look at laptops, they keep getting wider to accommodate larger screens,
but the keyboards stay the same, despite having as much as an inch on
either side they could have widened and space the keys out more in.
They key travel is at an all time worst, and NOT ONE has a trackball
instead of the cursed touchpad. The pointing stick is better, but I have
been told it requires too much pressure to move and becomes fatiguing on
the finger.
External trackballs have gotten worse too. The old mechanical Kensington
Expert mouse was pretty good, but the new one has too many buttons so you
can't rest your hand properly without pushing them. The supposed
"ergonomic" ones are even more uncomfortable than the regular.
The balls have gotten smaller, and they've ALL gotten uglier (but that's
another subject, which seems to cover all electronics and cars).

Basically, by offering no better choices (ala M$) they're getting away
with injurious garbage :(
