I want to buy a wireless keyboard for controlling a
media PC or laptop.

I'm confused on what to get. Should I go for BlueTooth
model or regular wireless model? And why?

TIA

Hi there!

I cannot fully answer your question because I don't have experience with a
bluetooth device, but to give you an idea about 'regular' wireless devices:
Personally I use a logitech wireless keyboard (with the mx1000 laser mouse).
Works fine as long as the keyboard and mouse are relatively close to the
receiver.

When I move back 2 - 2.5 meters, I noticed that the communication between
mouse and receiver is getting irregular, three meters away and it is almost
unusable. Same for the keyboard but to a little bit less degree.
So if you are planning on using your 'media' pc in the living room and sit
on a sofa two to three meters away...

Before that, I had another logitech wireless set, was an older model (one of
the first) and the communication was a bit slow (you could even notice it
when typing very fast). The funny thing was however, that with this set I
could easily control my pc from the balcony.. about 4.5 meters distance.

They say that bluetooth is effective for up to 10 meters, so if that is true
I would go for blue.

But as I said, I've no experience with it.

Hope this helps.

regards,
Marcel

That's what I've heard as well that BT has better range

And range is what I'm looking for
